Bishop Mike

Tuesday 14th March saw the inauguration of our friend Simon as the priest-in-charge of St Mary Redcliffe Church. As well as all the pomp and ceremony that the Church of England does so well, this was the first time I had heard (or indeed met!) Bishop Mike give a sermon and I was actually very impressed with him, I felt he left the church with a challenge, leaving a path open for Simon with the Church to take up the challenge of ensuring their church is open to the different communities they have in their parish. I think Simon has his work cut out crossing the divide between Bristol’s elite and the working class who are traditionally their subjects!
